The site has changed a great deal since 1965
Since 1965, GAIFFE Sawmill & Planing Mill has been processing timber with respect for people and the material. Founded by Régine and Claude Gaiffe — themselves the third generation of a family of sawyers — the company has grown in the heart of the Vosges, combining craft tradition with industrial ambition.
Three generations of passion and expertise:
Régine and Claude Gaiffe
laid the foundations of the family know-how and business.
Yves Gaiffe
modernised the sawmill and developed secondary processing.
Jérôme and Arnaud Gaiffe
carry on the family’s innovation and drive.
1965
Founding of the GAIFFE company
in Jussarupt, in the Vosges, by Régine and Claude GAIFFE.
1983
Takeover by Yves GAIFFE
and development of drying and planing operations.
1987
« Sélection Vosges »
The company joins the « Sélection Vosges » group of sawmills.
2005
New production site in Champ-le-Duc
to bring primary and secondary processing together on one site, with the addition of an innovative planing mill.
2010/2013
Jérôme and Arnaud Gaiffe
join the family business.
2014
Site expansion
Construction of a 3,000 m2 storage building and a vacuum kiln with a 50 m3 capacity.
2019
Upgrades to the planing lines
Gaiffe invests to modernise and expand the capacity of our production lines.
2021
Site expansion
Construction of a 4,000 m2 building to support the company’s growth.
2022
New sawmill / Cogeneration and kiln
Looking to the future, the company makes the largest and most ambitious investment in its history in order to multiply production tenfold.
