Preserving our resources

At Gaiffe, preserving the timber resource is essential. The softwoods we use come from sustainably managed forests, where harvesting is carefully controlled to limit pressure on the resource.

Special attention is paid to traceability, to local sourcing wherever possible, and to forest regeneration — ensuring the balance of forest ecosystems and the long-term future of the industry.

Operator safety

We ensure safe and controlled working conditions, limiting the risks associated with handling and processing softwood.

Strict protocols, suitable equipment and ongoing team training help prevent accidents. This vigilance is part of an overall approach to responsibility.

Smart energy use

The sawmill and planing mill valorise part of their cutting waste, such as sawdust and offcuts, to produce energy, heat the facilities, dry the timber and generate renewable electricity.

Supplier charter

Responsibility is everyone’s business!

That’s why we require our suppliers to comply with specific terms of reference.

Technology watch

Gaiffe maintains an active technology watch by taking part in professional events dedicated to timber and its resource, in order to identify innovations and contribute to the sustainable development and modernisation of the industry.

A local stakeholder

We support many local initiatives and associations that enliven our local community. We are aware that we represent an important link in the chain.

From the very beginning, our company has been part of a responsible approach, closely tied to the Vosges region and its natural resources. Working with timber means first understanding the material, respecting its cycle and valuing every piece with care.

We prioritise supplies from sustainably managed forests to limit our environmental impact. This approach allows us to offer reliable products suited to today’s challenges in construction and fit-out.

Beyond production, our commitment also takes the form of a will to pass on expertise, to support the local economy and to actively contribute to a responsible timber industry.
